We didn’t create Dhaasook just to be another tech-driven delivery service. Our mission is to bring real, meaningful change to our cities. The challenges of clean air, traffic congestion, the rapid growth of e-commerce, and the push for net-zero sustainability are all converging. These pressing issues have led to an urban landscape that urgently needs a complete rethink of how deliveries are carried out. With air pollution linked to chronic diseases and thousands of premature deaths, and the climate crisis intensifying due to rising greenhouse gas emissions, now is the time to learn more about our work and become part of the true sustainable delivery revolution.
When it comes to addressing the climate crisis, we firmly believe that offsetting alone isn’t a solution.
While offsetting can play a role in neutralizing unavoidable emissions, it shouldn't be seen as the first step. Planting a tree is certainly beneficial, but the carbon emissions and pollution from a diesel van delivery have already negatively impacted the climate and people's health by the time that tree is planted.
Moreover, the cost per tonne of CO2e for offsets is often too low, enabling businesses to buy cheap offsets instead of making substantial, meaningful changes to their operations. This doesn’t even address the harmful effects of NOX and particulates on public health and urban environments. While offsetting can reduce some emissions or capture carbon, its reliability, credibility, and effectiveness are still widely questioned.
We believe the only true path to sustainability is to prevent carbon and other pollutants from entering the atmosphere in the first place
Outdated models of urban delivery are not only inefficient and costly, they’re also failing to meet the rapidly evolving demands of today’s consumer. This consumer mainly shops online and wants their items delivered quickly and sustainably. Last-mile logistics is full of inefficiencies and accounts for up to half of the total cost of delivery. DHAASOOK has built a model that materially improves the efficiency and sustainability of urban freight by consolidating first-mile, local same-day deliveries, reverse logistics, and last-mile deliveries in each urban neighborhood.
Consumer experience is at the heart of ecommerce, and nearly half of consumers are willing to pay a premium for convenience, such as the ability to choose delivery windows. Outdated delivery models with hubs located far from consumers are ill-equipped to meet these changing demands. The cherry on top is that DHAASOOK’s trailer-based deliveries are often more cost-effective than alternatives. This is due to many factors, including:
While diesel vans and EVs work well on highways, in city centers, lighter, purpose-built vehicles like our trailers make much more sense.
